A note on romanisation: I toyed with using modern pinyin romanisation for Chinese words and names, but it looked weird. Instead, I've chosen to romanise things as they would have been at the time, which is to say inconsistently. Hopefully that won't be too annoying.

This site is a work in a state of perpetual incompleteness.
